Outside of his professional pursuits, Sherrill is engaged in the world of conservation and outdoor sports as is reflected in memberships with a range of organizations, both regional and international. These affiliations underscore his dedication to ethical hunting practices and the stewardship of natural resources—a passion that has taken him across continents and into varied terrains.

Sherrill, originally from Minnesota, spent 22 years in the Marine Corps before resuming his love of hunting and fishing. Now based in Maryland, he has hunted in the U.S., Canada, and Africa. He is a life member of SCI, NRA, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Maryland Bowhunters Society, and Wild Sheep Foundation. He is a member of the National Deer Association and an International Member of the Professional Hunter’s Association of South Africa (PHASA).

Sherrill’s other main passion is computers. He turned this hobby into a 22-year career after serving in the Marine Corps. He holds a Master’s in Computer Systems Management and IT professional certifications including PMP, CSM, and ITIL. He is very active on social media. He also assists churches and outdoor groups with their social media endeavors.
