Hunter H. Ihrman

Secretary

Born and raised in Western Michigan, Hunter Ihrman’s passion for hunting and fishing started at an early age. In high school, Hunter competed in NRA Highpower Rifle competitions eventually earning a “sharpshooter” classification. Since then, Hunter has enjoyed numerous hunting trips that each built memories alongside family members and friends, including several hunts that brought three generations of his family into the field together.

Protecting the tradition and heritage of hunting is why Hunter is active in Safari Club International (SCI). In addition to serving as Secretary of the National Capital Chapter, Hunter is also on the national SCI Governmental Affairs Committee and Marketing and Communications Committee. In these positions, Hunter advises SCI’s advocacy team on legislative strategy, litigation, and communications efforts. Hunter is a Life Member of SCI and is a Life Member of the National Rifle Association, Voting Member of the Professional Outdoor Media Association, and a supporter of numerous other organizations including Dallas Safari Club, National Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, Virginia Shooting Sports Association, and National Shooting Sports Foundation.

Hunter has also served as Chairman of the Virginia Board of Conservation and Recreation and Vice Chairman of the Virginia Citizens’ Advisory Council on Furnishing and Interpreting the Executive Mansion, positions he was appointed to by Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin. Hunter is a Past-President of the National Agri-Marketing Association’s Chesapeake Chapter and previously was appointed to the City of Alexandria’s George Washington Birthday Celebration Committee.

Professionally, Hunter is the Executive Director of Strategic Engagement and Government Affairs for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, the national trade association for American cattle ranchers. Earlier, Hunter was a federal contractor for U.S. Customs and Border Protection and served as a presidential appointee at the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
