I spent many years on the magazine side of the hunting industry, first as a writer, then I moved up to be an editor and publisher. I began my career with Petersen’s Hunting magazine (and Guns & Ammo), and eventually ended up as the Group Publisher of the NRA’s eight (at the time) monthly magazines. I’ve also worked at Remington as the Head of PR and spent some time consulting for other companies such as Barnes Bullets, Cabela’s and Mossy Oak.
After leaving the hunting industry in 2006, I became a Certified Financial Planner and shortly thereafter founded The Walsh Financial Group, a wealth management firm in Winchester, Virginia. Although it certainly keeps me busy, I have a great team that has allowed me to jump back into my passion: hunting. In late 2018 my wife and I converted a long-standing private hunting club into a hunting preserve in Romney, West Virginia. We are the proud owner/operators of The Lexington Hunt Club, guiding approximately 30 hunters a year to trophy whitetails and some exotic sheep.
I am a life member of SCI and the NRA, and a supporter of numerous other hunting, shooting and conservation-minded organizations.
